For various reasons, I didn’t add as many new blog posts in 2019 as I wanted to. I added a total of 15 new items, and I would have preferred to add something at least once every 2 weeks, if not more often. But, there were good reasons for the lower productivity.
In early 2019, I was recovering from a broken wrist. Typing and working on the computer were difficult for me.
I spent an entire month in Egypt in April, and while there I was so busy doing things I didn’t have time to blog about them.
In May, I started to get back on track with blogging, but in mid-June, a new challenge affected my productivity. My primary computer, which was several years old, developed serious issues that required me to migrate to a brand-new computer. Even at the best of times, migrating to a new machine is painful, and this was not the best of times. Several of the applications I use regularly had evolved significantly since I’d originally purchased them, which meant I had to re-learn how to use their current versions on the new machine.
By early July, I had the new computer working and started blogging again. But then, life got busy in August, and I’m embarrassed to say I didn’t post any new entries between July 29 and December 5!
And that’s why I posted only 15 new entries in 2019. On the plus side, those new entries included some really great material! I also feel great about the readership in 2019. People seem to like my articles, and they’re starting to turn up in search engine results.
As I enter 2020, I feel positive about being off to a good start. I have a number of ideas on topics to write about, and in fact I have a couple of drafts started! So here’s to a great 2020!
